If you have a rose quartz roller, you’ll want to know if and why you should be rubbing your face with this beautiful crystal. Well…

It’s good to rub your face with rose quartz because the crystal smooths and refreshes the skin, reduces puffiness, feeds the skin with minerals, and helps beauty products do what they were made to do.

There are many benefits to using rose quartz on delicate facial skin (9 that I could come up with), but it’s also important to understand what results you should and should not expect from face rolling, how to do it the right way, and how often to roll.

By the end of this article, you’ll know:

  • What you’ll get from rubbing rose quartz on your face
  • The right way to use a rose quartz roller
  • How often to use it and when you’ll see results
  • When in the day to use a rose quartz roller
  • If you need to use serum or not when rolling

9 reasons why it’s good to rub rose quartz on your face

Below are the 9 main benefits to using a rose quartz roller on your face:

Rollers smooth the skin

Rolling the face helps smooth the skin overall and can reduce fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes and mouth. This is because the roller stimulates blood circulation in the face, which plumps up the skin and gives it a glow.

Rose quartz refreshes facial skin

If your face is looking tired and puffy, try rolling it with a rose quartz roller. This action helps to drain the lymph nodes, which brings down puffiness and gives your skin a healthy glow.

You get more value from your skincare products

Using a rose quartz roller on your face soothes it through massage and helps the skin absorb skincare products. The roller also distributes products evenly on the skin, so all areas of your face get covered with these products.

A rose quartz roller, like the one pictured above, spreads skincare products evenly across the face and helps the skin absorb these products.

In fact, the bathroom is one of the best places to keep rose quartz.

You’ll feel better when you’re sick

A rose quartz roller can help relieve a sore throat and ease inflammation, especially if you use the roller in the neck area under your ears.

Using a smaller roller around the eyes and nose can relieve sinus pressure with upward, outward rolling motions.

In the warmer months, cool the roller in the fridge before use for even better results.

Rose quartz is good for most skin types

Rose quartz rollers are soft on the skin, and they can work wonders on dry or combination skin that needs healing and deep nourishment. Rose quartz is also good for normal skin, sensitive skin, or for those with rosacea (red patches on the face or a red face that looks over-flushed).

If you have oily skin, it’s better to use a jade roller. Here is an article that tells you how, why, and when to use a jade roller versus a rose quartz roller.

Rose quartz can make you feel good

Rose quartz is the stone of love and healing. Rolling rose quartz on your face is thought to slow down aging and boost self-confidence.

It can also bring many wonderful things into your life when you say these affirmations to your rose quartz or use a rose quartz in meditation.

Rose quartz passes minerals to your skin

Michael Gienger, a crystal expert who studied semi-precious stones and wrote a book about it, believed that the minerals in a crystal can move from the stone across the skin barrier through touch.

If this is the case, using a real rose quartz roller feeds the skin with: silica, oxygen, sodium, titanium, iron, or manganese. Click here to find out how to tell if rose quartz is real or fake.

All of these trace minerals are beneficial for the skin:

  • Silica encourages the production of collagen and improves the skin’s elasticity and strength. (source)
  • Pure oxygen boosts blood circulation, plumping up the skin and soothing acne.
  • Sodium releases excess fluid in the skin and reduces puffiness.
  • Titanium protects the skin from sun damage.
  • Iron boosts blood flow.
  • Manganese helps the skin heal and produce collagen, which makes it look younger.

Rolling massages and drains the lymphatic system

Rolling rose quartz on the face encourages drainage of the lymphatic system, which keeps the fluid level steady in the body and removes waste from our cells. Stimulating this system removes excess fluid and toxins from the skin, which reduces puffiness.

Rubbing rose quartz on the face also massages the lymphatic system, which increases blood flow and feeds the skin.

Rose quartz rubbing reduces stress

If nothing else, the simple act of taking a few minutes to give yourself a facial massage is a form of self-care, which leads to lower stress levels and a greater sense of wellbeing overall.

How to roll rose quartz on your face

To use a rose quartz roller on your face, start by tapping facial oil or moisturizer around your face with your ring finger. Tap the skincare product along your forehead, along both cheekbones, on the tip of the nose, on your chin, and along the base of your neck.

The best and only motion to use with a roller is upwards and outwards. This motion won’t drag the skin and cause wrinkles.

Don’t ever roll back and forth on a spot – always start in one spot, roll up and out or up and sideways, then lift the roller and place it on its next starting point.

Here’s how to use the roller on your face and neck:

  • Start by placing the roller at the bottom-left corner of your neck and roll it up toward the chin area. Repeat these strokes as you move across the neck, until you’ve covered the entire neck.
  • Next, start on the side of the chin. Roll up and out along the jaw and along the soft parts of the cheeks. Repeat until you’ve covered the entire chin.
  • Then start along the edge of the nose and roll out across the cheekbone. Repeat this on each side of the nose.
  • Finally, place the roller in the middle of the forehead and roll it out to the sides, by your temple. Keep going until you cover one half of the forehead, then do the opposite half.

Rose quartz rolling gives fast and ongoing results

Rose quartz rolling can quickly make the face look brighter, healthier, less puffy, and reduce the appearance of under-eye bags, at least for several hours. Over time, regular face rolling with rose quartz makes the skin look younger and healthier.

You can use a rose quartz roller daily for the best results, if you use it correctly and wipe it clean after each use.

When to use a rose quartz roller

A rose quartz roller is best used after cleansing your face each night. Rose quartz has a calming effect on the skin and helps the skin absorb richer and more nourishing night-time beauty products, which makes it the better product for night rolling.

A rose quartz roller can be used at any time, but if you must choose, use it at night for the best results.

Though if you need a midday pick-me-up or boost, it’s perfectly fine to use a rose quartz roller during the day too.

Always make sure to wipe your facial roller clean after rolling.

Can you use a rose quartz roller without serum

You can use a rose quartz roller without serum because rose quartz is very smooth and gentle on the skin. Using it with serum does distribute the product around the face and helps your skin absorb the product better.

A rose quartz roller, like the one in this photo, can be used without serum because the crystal is so smooth.
